At lunchtimes (between 13:00 and 14:00),  an answer phone message will give you the number for a call answering service called Kernow Message Handling.

Between 18:00 and 08:30 Monday to Friday and at weekends and Bank Holidays an answer phone message will give you instruction on who to ring.  If you have an urgent medical problem which cannot wait until the surgery opens you will be asked to ring 111.  If you have a life threatening illness then you will be asked to ring 999.

When you ring NHS 111 your details will be taken and you will be offered an appointment at a local Primary Care Centre or you will be asked to speak to the medical staff in the Triage Centre who will either give advice or arrange a home visit if it is considered appropriate.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
