Named GP

We would like to inform our patients that everyone registered with The Rame Group Practice will have a “Named GP”.  The role is designed to provide reassurance to patients that they have a dedicated GP who is responsible for their overall care coordination, although it does not mean they are the only doctor providing care and patients can choose to see any GP at the Practice.

As a Practice we have always registered our patients with a named GP. This has been purely for administrative reasons – it reflects and balances the ratio of patients to GP based on the GPs’ working commitment i.e. full-time or part-time.

Should you wish to change your allocated GP to another we will endeavour to accommodate this, but this may not be possible. It is important to remember that your Named GP is not the only GP you will see and is not the only GP we will ask you to see.

If a GP leaves (or joins) the practice patients named GP may change.  We won’t however contact patients to let them know but if they wish to know who their named GP is please contact the practice.

For patients over 75

Patients named accountable GP will also work with the relevant associated health and social care professionals to deliver a multi-disciplinary care package that meets the needs of the patient. They will also ensure that patients in this age group are able to have access to a health check.

If patients are unsure who their GP is, please either ask at Reception or contact the Practice by eConsult or phone.
